Sarkozy a-t-il touché les 30 deniers de Juda du Qatar pour avoir trahit Kadhafi et la Libye, après tous les engagements conclus par la France et l’UE avec la Jamahiriya avant février 2011 ?

Récemment, Ziad Talkkiedine, homme d’affaires franco-libanais proche de l'UMP, avait affirmé que "le système Sarkozy est en train de tomber" et qu'une "autre affaire" impliquant Sarkozy allait bientôt éclater. "Elle va s'appeler 'l'affaire du Qatar'. A coté, l'affaire Bettencourt, vous verrez…", avait-il prévenu dans un entretien à Jeuneafrique.com …

 

Nous y voilà ! « Un cadeau a été offert à un "chef d’Etat européen à l’occasion de la naissance récente de son bébé », écrit La Libre Belgique (Bruxelles, ce 21/05/2012) : « La rumeur se répand, petit à petit. Pourtant, rien n'indique que les faits sont avérés. Mais le mutisme du principal intéressé laisse perplexe. Pourquoi Nicolas Sarkozy n'infirme pas avoir reçu un somptueux cadeau au Maroc à la fin 2011 ? » 

 

Le quotidien bruxellois fait écho à une information qui avait été initialement publiée, en novembre dernier, par le magazine marocain Al-Ousboue. « Nicolas Sarkozy n'y était pas cité nominativement », mais l'article mentionnait un cadeau offert par « un richissime homme d’affaires des Emirats arabes unis » à un « chef d’Etat européen à l’occasion de la naissance récente de son bébé ».  Lorsqu’on sait le mode de fonctionnement du Qatar, une monarchie absolue, qui contrôle absolument tout, à commencer par l’économie qatarie, on commence à mieux comprendre !

La cadeau en question serait « un superbe palais faisant partie du projet immobilier de luxe Amelkis à Marrakech », poursuivait l'hebdomadaire. 

 

Et, ajoute La Libre, « si cette information refait maintenant surface, c'est en raison du départ immédiat, pour le Maroc, du président déchu et de sa famille sitôt la passation de pouvoir avec François Hollande entérinée. Il se murmure d'ailleurs que l'ancien homme fort de l'UMP pourrait profiter d'une retraite dorée sous les latitudes du Royaume chérifien ». 

« Carla et son époux vont souffler un peu, réfléchir à leur avenir mais aussi redécouvrir un autre rythme, sur un autre mode », a déclaré une source proche de l'ex-première dame de France au site Slate Afrique. 

 

Mais, interroge encore La Libre, « comment expliquer que Nicolas Sarkozy ait pu recevoir une telle propriété en "cadeau" ? Au vu du bourdonnement que suscite cette polémique, sur les réseaux sociaux notamment, Sarkozy aurait peut-être avantage à sortir de son mutisme et à faire preuve de transparence » … 

 

Impliqué dans le « Karachigate » (des rétrocommissions au Pakistan et à Taiwan) et le « Tripoligate » (le financement des campagnes de Sarkozy en 200-2007 par Kadhafi), voici Sarkozy qui apparaît dans un troisième dossier …

 

QUELLE EST LA VRAIE NATURE DES RELATIONS ENTRE SARKOZY ET LE QATAR ? 

 

Cela fait déjà longtemps que les relations entre Sarkozy et la monarchie du Qatar posent question. Déjà le 4 Août 2011, Marianne (Paris), à la suite de plusieurs medias français, posait la question qui dérange : « Quelle est la vraie nature des relations entre Sarkozy et le Qatar ? » : « L'hebdomadaire sportif So Foot puis le quotidien Libération se sont attardés ces derniers jours sur les relations étroites nouées entre Nicolas Sarkozy et le Prince héritier du Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Des relations qui semblent dépasser le simple cas de l'habituelle diplomatie. Sarkozy n'a pas l'exclusivité des relations amicales ou soutenues avec les autorités du Qatar. Même si le Qatar « n'est pas vraiment un pays fréquentable » (dixit Eric Leser pour Slate.fr), une belle partie de la classe politique française se rend régulièrement à Doha, de gauche comme droite. Mais Nicolas Sarkozy est … président. Ses relations ont une autre importance». 

 

En juillet 2007, le Qatar aurait déjà payé la compensation financière négociée avec les familles libyennes – qualifiée depuis de « rançon » – nécessaire à la libération des infirmières bulgares retenues par les autorités libyennes (320 millions d'euros). Pour permettre à Sarkozy de tirer la couverture médiatique à lui dans ce dossier et de mettre en valeur son épouse d’alors Cécilia, dans un geste à usage privé sensé sauvegarder son mariage agonisant. Belle confusion d’intérêts privés assimilés à un geste humanitaire. A l'époque, le Monde notait : «il apparaît peu probable, aux yeux des connaisseurs de la région, que le Qatar ait pu consentir un tel geste – susceptible de résoudre le problème de l'argent – sans contrepartie ». Libération ajoutait que « La complexité du montage et les montants en jeu (320 millions d’euros) laissent penser que l’opération était dans les tuyaux avant l’élection présidentielle ». 

 

Marianne précise que « Le Qatar est un gros investisseur en France. Quasiment tous les secteurs économiques sont concernés. En 2009, il a été exonéré tout impôt sur les plus-values immobilières par le biais d'une convention proposée par Sarkozy et ratifié par le Parlement …»

En mars 2010, Nicolas Sarkozy a élevé au rang de grand officier de la Légion d’honneur le Cheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. 

 

LE QATAR ET LA « GEOPOLITIQUE DU SPORT »

 

Dans notre monde globalisé, l’hypermédiatisation artificielle a conduit à une « géopolitique du sport et du football », où le sport est devenu un enjeu important de la politique internationale.

Le sport, qui donne au Qatar un rôle international démesuré, est évidemment un sujet sensible. Et Sarkozy et son régime un auxiliaire de poids dans ce domaine.

 

En avril 2011, précise Marianne, « Sarkozy est intervenu directement dans la reprise du club de football PSG par le fond d’investissement qatari QSI. La justification par Franck Louvrier, son conseiller en communication, est curieuse : « Il s’est intéressé de près au dossier. D’abord parce que c’est un État étranger qui investit en France, et puis parce qu’il est supporteur ». QSI est déjà actionnaire, minoritaire, de VINCI, concessionnaire du Stade de France, à qui l'Etat paye environ 6 millions d'euros de redevance par an pour compenser l'absence de club résident. ». 

 

Ce qui conduit à un psychodrame au sein du gouvernement Fillon. Marianne évoque à ce sujet « la rage de Nicolas Sarkozy contre sa ministre des Sports, Chantal Jouanno », évoquant un « coup de sang » et s’interrogeant «Y-a-t-il d'autres intérêts que l'on ne connaît pas ? »  Libération rapporte aussi à ce propos qu'elle « a été à deux doigts du renvoi à cause d'une simple déclaration publique, sur RMC, où elle disait regretter qu'un fond français n'ait pas repris le PSG ». Fillon aurait sauvé la tête de sa ministre en déclarant qu'«on ne peut pas désavouer publiquement celle qui vient d'être désignée pour conduire la liste de l'UMP aux sénatoriales de septembre à Paris». 

 

Déjà en janvier 2011, écrit encore Marianne, « notre Monarque se félicitait de la désignation du Qatar pour l'organisation de la Coupe de Monde de football de 2022.  Il avait personnellement demandé à Michel Platini, patron de l'UEFA, de voter pour cette candidature ».

 

LE QATAR, LE SOI-DISANT « PRINTEMPS ARABE » ET L’AGRESSION DE L’OTAN CONTRE LA LIBYE

 

Marianne confirmait le rôle du Qatar dans l’agression de l’OTAN contre la Jamahiriya libyenne : « le Qatar soutient les printemps arabes, mais il n'y a pas de printemps arabe au Qatar. C'est d'ailleurs bien inutile. Les trois quarts des résidents qataris sont des immigrés. En mars, le Qatar était l'un des piliers arabes de la coalition onusienne qui attaqua la Libye. Le pays a mis en place des rotations maritimes pour transporter des blessés libyens en provenance de Benghazi et de Misrata vers des hôpitaux en Tunisie. Il livre également des armes aux insurgés. L’émir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani fut également le seul leader arabe à reconnaître le Conseil national de transition. Il faut préciser qu'il y a aussi des liens tribaux entre Benghazi et l'émir du Qatar ». 

 

Précisons encore que ce sont les généraux français de l’OTAN qui vont, sur ordres de Sarkozy, amener l’islamiste Habdelhakim Belhadj – cadre d’Al-Qaida et ancien de Guantanamo – au poste de « gouverneur militaire de Tripoli » fin août 2011. Donnant un rôle politique démesuré et un poste clé à ce protégé du Qatar. Et courcircuitant le CNT à Tripoli.

 

Sarkozy a-t-il touché les 30 deniers de Juda du Qatar pour avoir trahit Kadhafi et la Libye, après tous les engagements conclu par la France et l’UE avec la Jamahiriya ? L’ « affaire du Qatar » – dixit Takedine – et le « cadeau marocain » évoqué par Al-Ousboue prennent ici tout leur sens …

Des milliers de personnes se sont rassemblées ce samedi sur une grande place à Damas à l'occasion du 65ème anniversaire de la création du parti Ba’ath socialiste arabe, au pouvoir en Syrie.

 

Dans une ambiance festive, au rythme de chansons patriotiques diffusées par des haut-parleurs, les partisans du président syrien Bachar al-Assad brandissaient des drapeaux aux couleurs rouge, noir, vert et blanc de la Syrie ba’athiste et du Ba’ath, et des portraits du chef de l'Etat.

« Qui sont les djihadistes français ? » interroge LA LIBRE Belgique (Bruxelles) (1). « Décryptage » avance le quotidien bruxellois. Le sujet est d’actualité avec l’affaire de Toulouse.

Mais il y manque en fait la perspective véritable et une grille de lecture correcte. Car les informations données sont exactes mais correspondent à la version de l’affaire donnée par les services secrets français et leurs omniprésents relais médiatiques (du style du l'ESISC, un institut bruxellois «

spécialisé dans la recherche géostratégique »), ces « experts » qui monopolisent les plateaux des télévisions (2).

 

A cette analyse, il manque l’élément principal. Celui qui explique la montée en action des djihadistes. Le déclencheur de l’activisme terroriste des djihadistes en Europe est en effet la réponse à un signal fort, et extrêmement irresponsable, donné par les USA et l’OTAN : la collaboration des services spéciaux de l’OTAN, et singulièrement des français et des britanniques, avec des leaders d’Al-Qaida et d’AQMI, sa branche nord-africaine, en Libye, en Syrie et en Algérie.

 

La vision, exemple emblématique, d’un ancien de Guantanamo, Abdelhakim Belhadj, adoubé par les généraux de l’OTAN, français en tête, comme « gouverneur militaire de Tripoli » en Août dernier est un mauvais signal donné à tous les djihadistes. Relire les déclarations des généraux français lors de la prise de Tripoli en Août 2011…

Le même Abdelhakim Belhadj est actuellement à la tête d’une brigade en Syrie, basée en Turquie, et dont les camps d’entrainement sont organisés en Libye avec la bénédiction du CNT et de ses protecteurs de l’OTAN.

La France de Sarkozy paye cash le prix fort pour cette politique aventuriste et irresponsable.

La présence des djihadistes en Syrie et leur prise en main de l’ASL, l’ « Armée Syrienne Libre » organisée depuis la Turquie islamiste de l’AKP par les mêmes services spéciaux de l’OTAN, est reconnue par l’influent think-tank US STRATFOR, proche du Pentagone et de Tsahal.

 

Et ce n’est que le début. Les djihadistes ont le vent en poupe, disposent maintenant de relais forts et de gouvernements favorables en Libye, Egypte, Tunisie et Maroc. Où les Salafistes et les Frères musulmans dominent maintenant la vie politique. Toujours sous la protection de généraux « arabes » protégés des USA et de l’OTAN.

A cela s’ajoutent le pillage des arsenaux libyens par les « katibas » djihadistes du CNT et la vente par les dirigeants corrompus du CNT libyen d’un impressionnant arsenal à AQMI aux début du coup d’état en Libye, en mars-mai 2011 (notamment des ventes de missiles exposées par le CANARD ENCHAINE à Paris, à l’époque).

 

La politique des USA et de l’OTAN, dont la France de Sarkozy – qui a enterré la politique du générale de Gaulle aussi bien au niveau européen qu’arabe – réintégrée dans l’OTAN est le bon élève servile, peut être qualifiée de schizophrénique. Chaque jour de jeunes soldats sont sacrifiés en Afghanistan et en Irak pour combattre des djihadistes. Que par ailleurs on arme et organise, comme allié principal, en Libye ou en Syrie. Incohérence ou cynisme …

Schizophrénie qui touche aussi les services spéciaux de l’OTAN. Ainsi les branches Sécurité intérieure des Services français, qui doivent suivre les djihadistes et autres salafistes en Europe, doivent regarder d’un drôle d’œil leurs collègues des branches Action extérieure et du Service Action qui encadrent et arment les mêmes islamistes en Libye ou contre la Syrie. En particulier les barbouzes française qui ont organisé les livraisons d’armes aux Brigades de Zenten et de Tripoli en juin 2011, avant de remettre la capitale libyenne à leur chef Abdelhakim Belhadj.

 

Voilà tous les non-dits des medias français et de l’OTAN après le drame de Toulouse !

La participation de la France et de nombreux pays de l’OTAN au projet américain dit du « Grand Moyen-Orient », celui de Bush et des Neocons réactivé par Obama, où les Européens se chargent par ailleurs de tâches que même les généraux du Pentagone refusent d’accomplir, à un prix. Celui ci sera élevé. La France de Sarkozy a commencé à le payer.

Les USA, qui ont aidé Ben Laden à organiser Al-Qaida au début des Années 80 en Arabie Saoudite et en Afghanistan contre les Soviétiques, puis les mêmes réseaux en Bosnie au milieu des Années 90 contre la Yougoslavie de Milosevic, connaissent bien ce prix. Washington le paye depuis plus de 15 ans.

Les leçons de l’Histoire semblent ne jamais être comprises des politiciens occidentaux.

"Who are the French jihadists?"asks LA LIBRE BELGIQUE (Brussels) (1). "Deciphering" advances the Brussels daily. The subject is topical to the case of Toulouse.

But there is missing in fact a true perspective and a way of interpreting correctly. Because the information is accurate but represents the side of the story given by the French secret services and their ubiquitous media relays (in the style of ESISC, an institute in Brussels "specialized in geostrategic research "), these “experts" who monopolize the TV sets (2).

 

In this analysis, the main element is missing. The one that explains the rise in action of jihadists. The trigger for the terrorist activism of jihadists in Europe is indeed the answer to a strong signal, and extremely irresponsible, given by the United States and NATO: the collaboration of special services of NATO, and particularly the French and British, with leaders of Al Qaeda and AQIM, its North African branch, in Libya, Syria and Algeria.

 

The vision, emblematic example, of a former Guantanamo prisoner, Abdelhakim Belhadj, dubbed by the NATO generals, headed by the French as "military governor of Tripoli" last August is a wrong signal given to all jihadists. Reread the statements of the French generals in the seizure of Tripoli in August 2011 …

The same Abdelhakim Belhadj is currently the head of a brigade in Syria, based in Turkey, and whose training camps are organized in Libya with the blessing of the NTC and its NATO protectors.

Sarkozy's France pays cash a heavy price for this adventurist and irresponsible policy.

The presence of jihadists in Syria and their handling of the FSA, the "Free Syrian Army" organized from Islamist Turkey of the AKP by the same special services of NATO, is recognized by the influential U.S. think-tank STRATFOR, close to the Pentagon and Tsahal.

 

And it is only the beginning. The jihadists are on a roll, now they have strong relay and favorable governments in Libya, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco. Where the Salafis and the Muslim Brotherhood now dominate political life. Always under the protection of "Arab" generals protected by the United States and NATO.

Added to this, the looting of Libyan arsenals by the jihadist "katibas" of the NTC and the sale by the corrupt leaders of the Libyan NTC of an impressive armory to AQIM in the early coup in Libya, in March-May 2011 (including missile sales explained by LE CANARD ENCHAINE in Paris, at the time).

 

The policy of the United States and NATO, including France of Sarkozy – who buried the policy of General de Gaulle at both European and Arab level – which reintegrated into NATO is the good servile pupil, can be described as schizophrenic . Every day young soldiers are sacrificed in Afghanistan and Iraq to fight the jihadists. Who moreover are armed and organized, as main ally, in Libya or Syria. Inconsistency or cynicism …

Schizophrenia affecting also the special services of NATO. So homeland Security branches of French Services, which must monitor the jihadists and other Salafists in Europe, should view with a funny eye their colleagues of the External Action and of the Action Service training and arming the same Islamists in Libya and against Syria. In particular the French secret agents who arranged arms shipments to Zenten and Tripoli Brigades in June 2011, before handing the Libyan capital to their leader Abdelhakim Belhadj.

 

That's all the unsaid of French media and NATO after the tragedy in Toulouse!

The participation of France and many NATO countries to the U.S. project said the "Greater Middle East", the one of Bush and the Neocons reactivated by Obama, where the Europeans also take care of tasks that even the Pentagon generals refuse to perform, has a price. This one will be heavy. Sarkozy's France has begun to pay.

The United States, which helped Bin Laden to organize Al-Qaeda in the early 80's in Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan against the Soviets, then the same networks in Bosnia in the mid-90's against Milosevic's Yugoslavia, is familiar with this price. Washington has paid for since more than 15 years.

The lessons of History seem never to be understood by Western politicians.

Yet one of these virtual elections organized by the West and its allies. But the same people criticise endless the Russian led Democracy…

 

THESE VIRTUAL ELECTIONS THAT ENDORSES THE WEST …

 

The only presidential candidate of Yemen on Tuesday, the one of the United States and NATO, of its Arab fundamentalist allies of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, Vice President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, from the wing of the Yemeni regime close to the Americans, was elected to 99.8% of the vote, announced Friday the national electoral commission in Sana’a. According to final results, 6,635,192 electors on 10,243,364 took part in the ballot, representing a turnout of 66%. Of the valid votes, 99.8% went to Mr. Hadi, the source said.

 

Mr Hadi was the only candidate to succeed Ali Abdullah Saleh as part of a transition agreement developed by the Gulf monarchies, which Qatar was the prime contractor.

 

The new president "will be sworn in before Parliament Saturday, February 25 and Monday, February 27 will be invested at a ceremony at the presidential palace in which Ali Abdullah Saleh will officially give him the power," said the electoral commission in a brief statement. Thursday, the Committee indicated that it continued to collect the election results and explained the delay by logistical difficulties and the fact that in the South, voting was disrupted by autonomists.

 

An "election", with a single candidate, which is boycotted in the South and not organized in the North, in the province of Saada, which proclaimed its autonomy, and in cities controlled by Al-Qaeda, is obviously a virtual election. Especially since it is supposed to "initiate a process of reconciliation" (sic). "In Southern Yemen, the separatist movement, however, increased violence, killing several people and the closure of many polling stations. The role of security services in this escalation was not clearly established. In the north, the call for a boycott launched by a rebel group has been followed, "says the very pro-Western LE MONDE.

 

WHEN THEY COME IN THE GEOPOLITICAL PROJECTS OF THE USA!

 

Wednesday, a relative of Mr. Saleh, the deputy information minister Janadi Abdo, was assured that the outgoing president, who went to the U.S.A. for medical care, would return to Sanaa for the inauguration of his successor. The election of Mr. Hadi for a transitional period of two years made Yemen the first Arab country where an uprising led to a solution called "negotiated". This uprising was organized and supported precisely by Qatar, with the discreet support of the West.

 

After Egypt and Libya, it is a new regime (dying) stemming from the Arab Nationalism (Nasserian type) that is replaced by the political system advocated by the United States as part of their project called the "Greater Middle East": Association of pro-Western military (locking the system) and a parliament under control open to radical Islamists. The goal is to separate the parliamentarian wing of the Islamists (Muslim Brotherhood, Salafists, etc.) from its jihadist radical base (linked to Al Qaeda or AQIM, its North African wing).

 

YEMEN: A BROKEN UP COUNTRY AND IN CIVIL WAR

 

This virtual election does not solve anything in a country deeply divided between Arab Nationalists (supporters of the incumbent president who surrendered – in exchange for immunity and the maintenance of his supporters in the army and state apparatus – and its "General People’s Congress," the former ruling party), fundamentalists backed by Qatar and the United States (those of the Islamist party Al-Islah, hegemonic within the opposition), and jihadists of Al Qaeda (which control several cities and lead a powerful radical Islamist insurgency). "This step creates a sense of optimism among various local and international (nota: hear Westerners). It ends six months of a slow disintegration of the political power that has raised fears that the country switches back into civil war. But nothing is settled yet and the task facing Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi is titanic. During the two year period of his transitional term, the man has to maneuver skillfully to meet the many challenges that are imposed on this country plagued by years of civil war and an explosive socio-economic situation”, comments LE MONDE (Paris ).

 

But that’s not all because there adds an Islamist insurgency, Shiite this time (and discreetly supported by Tehran). And which proclaimed an autonomous republic in Northern Yemen!

"The presidential election has highlighted the basis of the two main Yemeni secessionist movements, which have called for a boycott. In the North, some 150 km from the capital Sanaa, the Shiite rebellion of the Huthi movement, entered a cycle of violence against the state since 2004 "and which" took the challenge to install a republic in the north, in the province Saada, which is almost a de facto Huthi state”, explains Dominique Thomas (specialist on Yemen and Islamist movements in the Arabian Peninsula at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales).

 

They called for a boycott of the election, denouncing "an imperfect process of transition" and calling for "a federal system and more autonomy". Their recent establishment as a political party could initiate change. Their mobilization strength is large against the frustration of local people and religious revivalism.

 

But the descent into hell of Yemen does not stop there yet! For the South, where there was the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen (1970-1990), also wants to regain its autonomy. For once, as in Germany, there were two Yemen, whose PDRY with its capital in Aden, supported by Nasser, Arab Marxist state which had close ties with the USSR (the demise of the USSR was of course followed by the PDRY). Reunification is definitely being made by force in 1994, with a bloody civil war imposed by Saana.

 

"The Southern Movement, a separatist group, has called for a boycott of Tuesday’s ballot which shall bear the Vice President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi at the head of the State (…), told AFP. The hard wing of the Southern Movement, led by former Vice President of Yemen Ali Salem Al-Baid, who lives in exile, called on his supporters to prevent the elections, with the risk of causing violence. She called for "civil disobedience" Tuesday in the South, which remained independent until 1990”. "In Aden and surrounding provinces, the Southern Movement has adopted since the 1994 civil war a form of nonviolent action to promote its federalist project. Very divided between ideological movements, it recently entered an active phase, with a popular support, fueled by a genuine social discontent”, comments LE MONDE. "The Southern Movement is now at the crossroads and could move towards a more active militant and militarized, as shown by the attacks against polling stations," explains M. Thomas.

 

AL-QAEDA HAS ALSO CHOSEN YEMEN AS JIHADIST BASIS

 

Icing on a Yemeni rotten cake, the South is also a stronghold of Al Qaeda Guerilla, which in Yemen is no longer at the stage of terrorism but that of an insurgency on the Afghan model. "The jihadists are latecomers on the scene of Yemen in 2009. After the restructuring of Saudi and Yemeni branches of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and taking advantage of the decay of the state, they entered an active phase of control of the territory, "says Dominique Thomas. "With a few thousand fighters, they took control of half a dozen cities and dramatically increased their ability to mobilize in the south and the east of the country and north of Sanaa. Their social arm, the Ansar al-Sharia, in these cities imposes Islamic law”, comments LE MONDE.

 

The Yemeni state is unable to regain control of these areas, including using tribal militias. "It is possible that the military solution is not suitable, says Mr. Thomas, while the dialogue initiated by some tribes with Ansar Al-Sharia to liberate the city of Radah for example has paid off. The state could then negotiate the liberation of the cities and the return of displaced populations against the release of jihadist fighters, a shared management of civil affairs and stricter enforcement of Sharia. "

 

THE NEW YEMENI PRESIDENT: THE MAN OF THE AMERICANS

 

The current Vice-President of Yemen, Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who accedes to the presidency tomorrow, is a career military with no popular or tribal base, and wholly dependent on his U.S. and Qatari outside supports, but he was able to reveal himself as a man of consensus. Aged 57, discreet, he asserted himself during the four-month absence of President Ali Abdullah Saleh, seriously wounded in an attack in June in the rampant civil war that strikes Yemen. He has honed his image as enjoying the respect of all political actors, opposition included.

 

The man is indeed "held" by his Marxist past that he had to make forget. Within the army, he was able to move up in the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen (1970-1990), only Marxist Arab state that had close ties with the USSR. Appointed Defense minister in 1994 after reunification, then he will assist with a stateless soul president Saleh resigning today.

 

"His image is already in all the streets of Yemen since February 15. Day when former President Ali Abdullah Saleh asked to remove his portraits and put in place those of Vice President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, sole candidate for the early presidential election of February 21. An election-plebiscite in which Yemenis participated in number, on Tuesday. The process is however in accordance with the agreement to end the crisis proposed by the Gulf countries and signed by all parties involved in the uprising. After the departure of former President Saleh, the coming to power of Mr. Hadi is a new stage of the political transition process”, comments LE MONDE (Paris).

Note that the term "transition process" is a complex concept which envisages the transformation of the socialist regimes in Western "market democracy". Initially in the post-Soviet Eastern Europe, today the term is given to the agenda, in the Middle East.
